One of the things that keep people worried about Mexico is the state of drug use and the drug trade here. Like in most other destinations near the equator, it is easy to assume that a trip to Mexico is a trip to the beach. While it's true that places like Cancun and Acapulco offer expats the chance to enjoy the beach in a place where there's a hotter temperature, that's only half of the story.
