Environmental laws are delaying the effort to secure the United State, Mexico border, as well as hindering law enforcement officials from being able to pursue drug smugglers.

The documents that were obtained by Utah Republican, over public lands, show that Homeland Security officials are hitting environmental road blocks in the attempt to erect a virtual fence near some seemingly troublesome crossing areas.

Placing a surveillance tower in the Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument over in Arizona would surely be a problematic issue, according to a Denver based National Park Service official.
