When did you start your website and why?

May 2007 - to promote sales

Please give us a short summary of your website, business model, etc

Our company provides fairtrade handwoven hammocks from village co-operatives in Mexico - started as a water engineering project and ended up a company generating alternative means of income in areas of relative poverty.

What has been the most difficult part of creating and running your website?

Marriage

Who maintains your website and why?

Me - can't afford anyone else

Means we have to do less festivals

What are your views on ecommerce and the future of the internet?

So long as it doesn't completely take over it's ok

What are your views on Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?

Often seems to favour those with less actual content

What are your views on Search Engines? Have they helped or hindered your website?

Helped in general - although lots of peoplpe seem to get away with false promotion

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Search engine placements

What method has been least successful for promoting your website?

Magazine advertising

What would you like to see change with respect to the internet?

Less automatic transferring
