Name of your website?

Yendart Handicrafts

Your name?

Lilia Sanchez

Your Location (city, etc)

Mexico

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Home decor and Jewelry. Everything made by hand, with high quality and the unique Mexican style. These are our products: Real pressed flowers jewelry with silver casing; Pewter candleholders, centerpieces and animal figures; Boxes and paintings fully covered with colored straw, inlaid by hand; 36"x35" Rustic Wall Hangings made of plant fiber.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I wanted to export mexican handcrafts, but it is too risky to begin with tones of products; Internet is a gradual way to develope export skills.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

2007. This is my first website.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

It is composed by my mother first and second name. I truly believe the own names are the best brand. It brings a very personal seal.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

Quality. I have a wide knowledge about mexican handicrafts and the different level of skill manifested. In work only with the craftmen that have a deep compromise with quality.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

To make it grow.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

There is no problem about time or money. The planned quantities has been invested and I spend full time on this project.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

The Pay pal system has been very useful. I would keep it permanently.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes. There is a businness project that foresees the different levels of the company development. I have previous experience on getting precise results managing several human teams.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

To find Internet experts that fits my budget and give results in a certain period of time. The requierement of an image designer. To lower costs.

What has been your biggest challenge?

To increase sells.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Google.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

It has been a much more slow process than previewed, but I think its the natural learning period. Any business requires in its firts stages (and in subsequents stages too) of constancy although amazing results aren't showing.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

I have run the site for 4 months. I will keep forever this website. I am prepared to implement any changes that must be requiered to make it grow (change of marketing strategy, change of handicraft products, change of business image, etc).

How much time did you spend in answering this questionary?

40 minutes.

What is your website address?

Yendart Handicrafts
