Same-sex marriage law to be implemented on March 4

In as little as two to three weeks, homosexual couples based in Mexico City will be finally able to get married in civil courts. The exact date will be on March 4, after a December 22 approval of a new law allowing same-sex marriages in the Mexican capital, which is actually the first city in Latin America to allow such a ruling.

Drug cartel violence in Mexico turning sour

One of the things that keep people worried about Mexico is the state of drug use and the drug trade here. The situation has gone so bad that some quarters claim that certain Mexican states are already on the verge of descending into "drug state" status, just like how Colombia was much of a narcotic nation last decade.
