regional costumes of Mexico

12/22/09 14:49

Not very much long ago there was a knowledgeable traveller that had needed only one single glimpse of a local lady’s distinctive clothing, in order to tell him exactly where he had been.

Even where a particular style was widely worn, which would be in certain areas of the country, there was always something to pinpoint the home village of the particular wearer.

Even though all of the women in a single village might have worn similar costumes, each would have incorporated some small detail of design, or even color, in order to make it individually hers.
